On October 15th community members interested in learning about the timely topic of eviction will come together virtually to join Housing Opportunities for Women (HOW) for the organization’s annual fall luncheon. The event, Locked Out: A Closer Look at Our Eviction Crisis, will feature a panel discussion with four experts from diverse fields, in conversation about the current eviction crisis and its intersection with housing, racial, and economic justice. Additionally, Locked Out will explore the impact of eviction through personal narratives and cover possible solutions to the country’s growing need of affordable housing.
We are delighted to share our very own Director of the Housing Practice Group, Dennericka Brooks, will be one of the esteemed panelists and will share the stage with: Sol Flores, Deputy Governor, State of Illinois; Steve Thomas, President, 5T Construction Inc.; and Wendell Harris, Vice President of Lending Operations at Chicago Community Loan Fund. The event will be moderated by WBEZ’s Steve Bynum and will also include a Q&A session, allowing attendees to submit their questions live.
